'Who is watching who?' 2019

Inspired by the magic of the Glyndebourne opera festival, Charlotte has deliberately left it ambiguous as to whether the figures in the painting are viewing the opera or are on the stage performing. This is open to interpretation. The audience experience is as much part of the spirit of Glyndebourne and thinking about ‘life as theatre’ is also a theme running through my paintings.
